Andrea Pirlo is an Italian professional footballer and manager. He manages Sampdoria, and has previously managed Juventus U23, Juventus, and Fatih Karagümrük. He has played for Brescia, Inter Milan, Reggina, AC Milan, Juventus, New York City FC, and the Italy National Team. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest ever midfielders.
Andrea is the son of Livia Gatta and Luigi Pirlo. He has two children with his former wife Deborah Roversi; and two children with his partner Valentina Baldini.
Andrea is sometimes described as having Romani ancestry (specifically Sinti), from his father’s side. Andrea denied the rumour in his autobiography, saying “My family have always hailed from Lombardy. I’m from Brescia, I’m Italian, I’m not a Sinti.”
